MRV Data Management Systems
Design, development and operation of national-scale systems that enable all stakeholders to carry out monitoring, reporting and verification of greenhouse gas emissions online.
Since 2014, Kağıtsokağı R&D has developed software solutions for climate and environment for public institutions, international development organisations and companies — from national monitoring, reporting and verification (MRV) systems to greenhouse gas footprint calculators and custom reporting tools — delivering analysis, design, implementation and maintenance end to end.
Kağıtsokağı R&D builds software to collect, calculate, report and verify climate and environmental data. The company developed the first version of Türkiye's national greenhouse gas MRV system and carried out its development and maintenance without interruption from 2014 to 2022.
This expertise has extended to MRV systems for Ukraine and civil aviation, EU-funded technical assistance in F-gases, Natura 2000 and disaster risk reduction, greenhouse gas footprint calculators, and custom applications for organisations' internal climate and environmental reporting. Our model of working directly with beneficiary experts and IT departments ensures fast, uninterrupted adaptation to regulatory change and infrastructure transformation.
Environmental sustainability is at the core of our work. Our guiding principle is that every system we build should help turn each measured tonne into a better-informed decision.
Design, development and operation of national-scale systems that enable all stakeholders to carry out monitoring, reporting and verification of greenhouse gas emissions online.
User-friendly tools, aligned with recognised methodologies, for calculating, tracking and reporting greenhouse gas footprints at organisation, facility and activity level.
Internal applications for collecting, validating and reporting climate and environmental data, designed around each organisation's processes and reporting obligations.
Single sign-on, e-signature and mobile signature services, database migration (Oracle → PostgreSQL) and two-way data integration between institutions.
Analysis of data-collection and reporting obligations arising from EU legislation, needs assessment, system architecture and concept papers.
GIS-based web mapping and spatial data management for protected areas, infrastructure coordination and field operations.
Requirements are defined and validated with beneficiary experts using agile methods.
Open-source technologies and open standards for systems sustainable on the institution's own infrastructure.
Post-delivery maintenance, regulatory compliance and adaptation to infrastructure changes.
Assignments undertaken as main contractor or technical consultant in projects funded by the EU, the German Federal Government (GIZ) and the World Bank.
Design, development and maintenance of the national system through which installations, verification bodies and the Ministry carry out MRV processes online. Delivered monitoring plan, emission report, verification, verification body and analysis modules, with EÇBS, e-signature and mobile signature integrations and a PostgreSQL migration.
End-to-end design and development of the national MRV system under Ukraine's emissions trading scheme, in line with local legislation and ministry infrastructure. A role-based, multi-stakeholder structure integrated with the EcoSystem single sign-on portal and the state's file-based e-signature.
Development of a CORSIA-compliant MRV system for airline operators, DGCA experts and verifiers, with e-signature integration and user and emission data sharing with SG-İRD.
Analysis of data-collection and reporting obligations under F-gas Regulation (EU) No 517/2014; design of an integrated national F-gas database covering imports and exports, equipment registration and leak checks; technical support for the Ministry's systems.
Review of Ministry systems and existing data, data and literature compilation, and support for integrating the ETS simulation with Ministry infrastructure.
Development of the “Standard Data Form” module, in which species, habitat and site data for protected areas are recorded in the EU format, within the system for selecting and designing the Natura 2000 network.
Design of the national platform and reporting framework for online collaboration between AFAD, local authorities, universities and civil society organisations.
